Giamaica cafe
In the heart of Verona, the coffee roaster 'Laboratorio Torrefazione Giamaica Caffé`hides in a small side street, almost without decorations and signs. There's a phone, but the roaster doesn't have a website. Healthy but successful modesty, as roaster customers are the best restaurants and first-class deli shops, In 1947 Giovanni Erbisti founded his coffee roaster, always using exclusively Arabica coffee and the old roasting machine from Officine Vittoria (Bologna) is still used today, making it one of the last roasters in the world to roast its own beans directly with an open flame.
Simone Fumagalli, third generation in the small company, has learned the art of coffee roasting from his father Gianni Frasi, a true legend in the coffee world. Found only in selected top restaurants, cafés and gourmet shops around the world, Giamaica Caffè is all about small production. It produces as much coffee in a year as most well-known coffee brands make in one day!
