Il Borgo del Balsamico

Up in the loft of a beautiful property in Albinea, near Reggio Emilia, is aging our balsamic vinegar. It happens in ancient barrels, passed down to "Il Borgo del Balsamico", from noble families that once lived in the provinces of Reggio Emilia and Modena.

The vinegar of Borgo del Balsamico comes from the passion of Cristina and Silvia´s father, more than 40 years ago.

950 small barrels lie now in secluded corners of the lofts, old farmhouses and greenhouses of this wonderful estate. Barrels made of oack, acacia, cherry, juniper, ash and chestnut woods. The result is a blend that makes every bottle of Balsamico never quite the same as the previous one.

The product comes from the grapes Trebbiano and Lambrusco, so white and red. The packaging of Il Borgo del Balsamico, besides being aesthetically original, is critical to clarify the different characteristics of different products and uses. Yellow, recommended for salads and marinades, Orange, perfect in the last minute of cooking of roasts and vegetables, Red, can be used raw on all dishes from the appetizers to the desserts.

The company although young, has already collected major awards.
